"You can't help that. We're all mad here." - The Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland

"No matter how much cats fight, there always seems to be plenty of kittens." - Abraham Lincoln

"Of all God's creatures, there is only one that cannot be made slave of the leash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve the man, but it would deteriorate the cat." - Mark Twain

All cats are members of the group "Felidea". Amazingly enough, the cat family parted from the other animals at least 40,000,000 years ago, making felines one of the most previous mammalian ancestry. All felines experience particular device characteristics which are unparalleled to the cat family group.

cats are complete meat eating mammals. They need a plenty of protein in their diets, just about thirty percent, and lack the organs to succeed on a diet of vegetables, fruits or fruits. In fact, suppose you were to create a animate being to survive from preying on mammals you'll have trouble performing more effective than the architecture of the kitty cat. If you are familiar with felines, you know and understand they have very powerful mouths, extended, sharp chompers and nails that retract to their cat-paws whenever when not being used. The feline has very acute hearing. The eyes are conformed for visual modality in non-luminous situations for preying on just before dawn and just following twilight, the main hunting times.

Cat's what's what

  • Cats have a full inner-eyelid, or nictitating membrane. This inner-eyelid serves to help protect the eyes from dryness and damage. When the cat is ill, the inner-eyelid will frequently close partially, making it visible to the observer.
  • The gene in cats that causes the orange coat color is sexed linked, and is on the X sex chromosome. This gene may display orange or black. Thus, as female cat with two X chromosomes may have orange and black colors in its coat. A male, with only one X chromosome, can have only orange or black, not both.
  • New born felines are brought into this world with two eyes and ears no hearing. Eyes will eventually open, it is universally bluish first. Their eyes shift coloring within a period of months to the true eye colour.
  • When well treated, a cat can live twenty or more years. A cat cannot see directly under its nose. This is why the cat cannot seem to find tidbits on the floor.
